Liané Mitchell, B.S., NRP, FP-C, CCP
Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Liané Mitchell serves as Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Feral Pagans, where she provides executive leadership, organizational vision, and strategic direction across the company’s publishing, education, and professional training initiatives. She is responsible for guiding long-term organizational growth while ensuring Feral Education delivers industry-leading instruction to healthcare professionals, first responders, and public safety organizations.
With more than 18 years of frontline emergency medical services experience, Liané is a nationally registered paramedic, Certified Flight Paramedic (FP-C), and Critical Care Paramedic licensed in Tennessee and Kentucky. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Advanced Paramedicine and has dedicated her career to advancing patient care, professional education, and clinical excellence within emergency medicine.
As an American Heart Association Instructor for Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Liané has trained healthcare professionals and first responders in critical lifesaving skills while developing educational programs that emphasize practical application and operational readiness.
Liané is also a recognized educator and speaker specializing in improving emergency response for neurodiverse individuals. Drawing from both professional experience and personal insight as the parent of a child with autism, she develops training that equips first responders with practical strategies for recognizing, communicating with, and safely caring for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental conditions.

During Feral Education’s growth and development, she also provides executive oversight of the division while guiding long-term strategy, organizational expansion, and the development of professional education programs for healthcare, first-responder, and public-safety professionals. Working alongside Chief Operating Officer Joseph Hull, she is leading the development of operational systems, a governance framework, and leadership infrastructure to support the division’s continued growth and future expansion.
Joseph L. “Joe” Hull, LCSW
Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer
Joseph L. “Joe” Hull serves as Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder of Feral Pagans, where he leads executive operations, strategic planning, organizational development, business intelligence, financial planning, and long-term growth initiatives across the company’s portfolio of businesses. He is responsible for transforming executive vision into operational execution by developing scalable systems, governance frameworks, and performance-driven organizational strategies.
Joe brings executive leadership experience spanning military operations, healthcare administration, entrepreneurship, and organizational development. Throughout his career, he has led multidisciplinary teams, directed organizational operations, developed strategic initiatives, built executive reporting systems, and implemented operational improvements that enhance organizational performance and accountability.
Prior to co-founding Feral Pagans, Joe served as Clinical Director for a hospital behavioral health program, providing executive oversight for departmental operations, budgeting, personnel management, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and strategic planning while reporting directly to executive leadership. He also founded and led a behavioral health company, directing business planning, financial management, investor engagement, partnership development, and organizational growth from startup through operational maturity.
Joe is a retired U.S. Army Staff Sergeant who served as a Sentinel at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier before leading Infantry Soldiers during two combat deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. His military career developed the leadership, operational planning, and mission execution principles that continue to guide his executive approach today. He holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Kentucky, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at Murray State University.
As Chief Operating Officer, Joe oversees corporate governance, strategic planning, financial oversight, operational performance, business development, investor relations, and organizational expansion. His leadership focuses on building scalable systems, strengthening organizational performance, and positioning Feral Pagans and Feral Education for sustainable long-term growth.
Gavin McIlvenna
Director of the Tactical Department
Gavin McIlvenna serves as Director of the Tactical Department for Feral Education, where he leads the organization’s tactical training programs. He oversees curriculum development, instructor standards, operational planning, and the delivery of specialized training, while building a team of highly qualified instructors through his extensive network in the military, law enforcement, and emergency services.
A retired U.S. Army Sergeant Major (E-9) and retired Oregon State Trooper, Gavin brings nearly five decades of combined military, law enforcement, and tactical training experience. During his 23-year Army career, he served as an Operations Sergeant Major, and Chief Instructor for the Army National Guard Warrior Training Center’s Air Assault Course. Following his military service, he completed more than 25 years with the Oregon State Police, serving in patrol, special operations, tactical medicine, rope rescue, and statewide training leadership.
Gavin is an internationally recognized expert in tactical rope operations. As the founding President of the International Society of Tactical Rope Operators (ISTRO), he helped establish professional standards and instructor certification programs for tactical rope operations. He is also a co-founder of the Society of the Honor Guard, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and has served in numerous executive leadership positions supporting veteran organizations.
His credentials include Master Instructor and Instructor Assessor certifications through both ISTRO and the International Technical Rescue Association, along with instructor certifications in tactical medicine, SWAT operations, rescue systems, law enforcement tactics, and military leadership.
At Feral Education, Gavin’s role extends beyond instruction. He is responsible for leading the Tactical Department, developing new training programs, recruiting experienced subject matter experts from his professional network, and ensuring every course meets the highest standards of operational excellence, safety, and instructional quality. His leadership provides Feral Education with immediate credibility and access to experienced instructors capable of delivering advanced tactical training to military, law enforcement, fire service, EMS, and other public safety professionals.
